mosquito | 2020

mosquito is an award-winning fictional short following Sage, a teenage girl struggling with anxiety.

The mosquito acts as a metaphor - a symbolic, vexing presence that toys with the protagonist in her dream-states and inner world. This experimental musing on mental health crises won Best Cinematography as well as earned nominations for Best Score and Best Horror Short at the 2020 Genre Film Festival in Japan. It was also a finalist at ARFF Berlin International Awards that same year.

The film has screened globally thanks to platforms like Minute Shorts, Form No Form, Girls In Film and gal-dem, where it featured as part of gal-dem’s ‘shorties’ series in 2021. read the full write up here.
