LAURA FACEY - PORTENT - 2025.

Honoured to have worked with the incredible Jamaican sculptor Laura Facey to bring the documentation of PORTENT to life in video form.

The word ‘portent’ means “the potential for something magical to happen” - an apt summary of the way Laura’s work makes me feel. This exhibition showcases a variety of her large-scale and smaller wooden sculptures (made primarily from fallen timber) in all of their divine glory. Please see her website for more details about the show which runs until the 28th of February in St Ann, Jamaica.

APPROACHING THE EERIE - REFERENCE POINT 2024.

I was thrilled to join this panel of women in film alongside Sayna Fardaraghi, Helena Jean Coan and Maryam Fakory following a screening of our works at ‘Approaching The Eerie’ - a film event exploring womanhood within the horror genre at Reference Point on the 31st of October.

During the post-screening q+a we discussed everything from what motivates us as film directors to how we approach the uncanny, horrifying and the surreal through a feminist-lens. Special thanks to Bella Barkett, Lilia Pavin Franks, Damsel Elysium and Charles Jeffrey for a spectacular evening.

NO ARCHIVE CAN RESTORE THIS CHORUS OF (DIASPORIC) SHAME - VENICE BIENNALE 2024.

Earlier this year, I was honoured to join the collective of vocalists who contributed to the score of Onyeka Igwe's ‘No Archive Can Restore This Chorus of (Diasporic) Shame’ - a sound and film installation at the Nigerian Pavilion for the 2024 Venice Biennale.

Onyeka worked with Auclair to rework English translations of the Egba Market women's protests songs, drawing on histories of British folk traditions, Sacred Harp, spirituals and industrial music, transforming them into a new song cycle. Sound recording took place in February 2024 at The Room Studios in London. Read more about the artwork here.

GOLDSMITHS POSTGRADUATE DEGREE SHOW 2023

After an intense year-long masters programme at Goldsmiths University, a culmination of research and interdisciplinary art practice led to the showcase of IRIN AJO - a multi-channel film, sound and sculpture installation that explored Yoruba cosmology, time travel and the evolution of African storytelling. Learn more about the work here.

GIRLS IN FILM X ARTISTS IN TRANSIT 2022

I was pleased to be a part of this incredible screening, q+a and workshop event organised by Girls in Film and Artists in Transit. Following a screening of my film Mosquito, along with other wonderful films by female directors, I engaged in a vibrant discussion with fellow filmmaker Jan Rufus.

We unpacked visual forms of storytelling that explore identity and heritage, then carried on discussing these themes further in a heart-warming workshop for young girls (pictured above)!
